Through his message on the International Day to End Impunity in Crimes against Journalists on November 2nd, 2021, the General Secretary of the United Nations Antonio Guterres sadly confirmed that "62 journalists were killed last year just for doing their jobs. No society can be free without journalists who can investigate wrongdoing & speak truth to power".
For the democratic development and welfare of any modern society, he then urged countries to investigate & prosecute crimes against them with the full force of the law.
