The Journalists Support Committee Calls for the Protection of the Rights of IMN's Journalists and Media Workers
The Journalist Support Committee is very concerned about the information that the Iraqi media network is not committed to the legal rules that protect the rights of its journalists.
The Committee notes in this regard that Article 13 of the law on the protection of journalists, approved by the Iraqi house of representatives, states that "local and foreign media operating in the republic of Iraq are committed to conclud employment contracts with journalists".
The Committee also emphasizes the need to ensure the rights of all journalists in the network and not to prejudice their functions and financial entitlements within the established legal frameworks.
