JSC congratulates AEJ for electing its Board of Directors and expresses its hope for further cooperation and exchange of experiences

At the end of the second day of the General Assembly of the European Journalists Association, held since Friday, November 30, 2018, in Agrinio, Greece, the members of the Board of Directors were elected. Director Otmar Lahodynsky, Secretary General Tibor Macak, Vice-President Saia Tsaousidou in Greece, Vice-President Javier F. Arribas in Spain, Vice-President Oana Enăchescu in Romania and Treasurer Luigi Cobisi, AEJ Media Freedom representative William Horsley, AEJ fake news representative Irina Nedeva, and AEJ representative for Brussels Belgium Lievin Taillie, for a two-year mandate.

The Committee congratulates all the elected members on assuming the duty of directing and bearing the responsibility of the Association. The committee also commends the smooth running of the election process as well as the transparency, integrity and democracy adopted.

In this context, the Journalist Support Committee expresses its hope to expand the range of communication, support, exchange experiences with the journalists of the Association of European Journalists concerning the issues that both associations are interested  in, work to increase media awareness, defend the rights of journalists as well as freedom of opinion, expression and press, and seek to develop mutual cooperation for the sake of journalists who are members of the organizations.
