“Will the Bahraini Journalists be targeted again?” Questioned JSC's Representative in Bahrain to the Foreign Minister.

Mr. Hussein Yousef, Journalist Support Committee's representative in Bahrain, criticized the unconditional support of the Bahraini Government for the Government of Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Yousef believed that the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain stresses that the disappearance of Khashoggi is considered a conspiracy against Saudi Arabia. In a reply to the Foreign Minister on Twitter, Mr. Youssef expressed that the government of Bahrain should call to uncover the fate of the disappeared journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and should consider the origin of his concealment to be denounced, whatever the motives are. Referring to the continuing targeting of journalists in Bahrain, Yousuf called on the Bahraini government not to issue actions that persecute journalists.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement assuring that it stands in solidarity with the Saudi policies and rejects what may undermine its sovereignty, on the background of international claims to uncover the fate of the forcibly disappeared journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

In a previous statement, the Journalist Support Committee called upon the Saudi and Turkish authorities to uncover the fate of Khashoggi who was forcibly disappeared after entering the Saudi consulate in Ankara, the capital of Turkey.
