The mayor of Vilnius welcomes journalists from Muslim countries and invites them to learn about the Lithuanian experience of interfaith and intercultural coexistence
His Excellency Mr. Remigijus Šimašius, Mayor of Vilnius, Lithuania, invited journalists and media organizations to visit Vilnius and to recognize its special status as a symbol of the tolerance and peaceful coexistence among different religions and civilizations.
Stressing that his city is distinguished in addition to its tourist attractions, especially in terms of architecture, which was classified as a world heritage by UNESCO, the city is a crossroads of different cultures and civilizations.
This came during a meeting of the Secretary-General of the Journalist Support Committee, Mr. Yasser Sayegh with the Mayor of Vilnius, Lithuania, Mr. Remigijus Šimašius during the General Assembly of the Association of European Journalists in the city of Vilnius.
